2019 Hackathon with UIC Black Tech Scholars
Productive Edge is excited to have once again hosted students from the University of Illinois at Chicago Black Tech Scholars program (UIC BTS) for this year’s Hackathon. As in the past, the Hackathon provided the opportunity for a group of students to join together with the goal of building something new and improving their skills in development. The event was held in at the PE offices. Under the guidance of PE employees, students were able to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation. The Hackathon brought in participants from different majors and backgrounds, all who are preparing for a career in computer science..
PE’s College Graduate and Internship Programs
Productive Edge’s positive working environment provides opportunities for up-and-coming young professionals to further the impact of emerging technologies on enterprises across the globe. Over the past several years, PE has focused on hiring students from top universities in the Midwest and beyond in order to supply these opportunities for growth and development through a dedicated internship program. Likewise, Productive Edge places an emphasis on the value of hiring recent college graduates to join the company as full-time associates.
PE Cares: Dog Toys for the Anti-Cruelty Society
Productive Edge employees recently showed off their crafty side by helping out the River North Anti-Cruelty Animal Shelter. In order to provide for dogs at the shelter, PE came together to create dog toys. The toys were made out of old t-shirts donated by PE staff and were created during an after-hours event.
PE Cares: Giving back to Pacific Garden Mission
In an ongoing mission to give back to the community, Productive Edge has established PE Cares. As a program, PE Cares aims to participate in and give back to our growing and thriving Chicago community. Recently, the PE team headed to Pacific Garden Mission to help serve some of Chicago’s less fortunate.
Productive Edge Cares Roundup: January 2019
When it comes to helping those around us, Productive Edge cares. For us, that means turning caring into engagement. That’s what PE Cares is all about. Starting in January, Productive Edge Cares launched the Hunger Games Food Drive, a friendly competition amongst PE employees to see who could bring in the most non-perishable food items for donation to the Pacific Garden Mission homeless shelter.
